Advisory Body

The Advisory Body advises Development West Coast on investments into the West Coast.  Its five members are appointed by trustees in consultation with the Minister of Finance and in accordance with the Deed of Trust.

Advisory Members

Gill Cox

Gill is Chairman of the Advisory Body. He is a Christchurch company director and business advisor. He is executive director of Advanced Business Education Ltd, a former partner of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand (1992-93).


Bruce Gemmell


Bruce is a Christchurch financial consultant, chartered accountant and managing partner of Ernst & Young Christchurch Office.


John Isles


John is a Wellington company director. He is deputy chairman of the Medical Assurance Group, a director of PrimePort Timaru, Woolyarns and Exicom Technologies. He has held/holds a number of public sector appointments such as chair of the NZ Apple and Pear Board and Radio New Zealand.


David Steele

 


David lives in Wellington. He has a commercial background having spent sixteen years in senior roles with Development Finance Corporation including eight years based in Christchurch in the 1980’s responsible for lending and investment activities in the South Island. More recently he has spent thirteen years with the New Zealand Dairy Board / Fonterra as a mergers and acquisitions manager involved with many of the Board’s international investments. He currently works as a business advisor and as a company director as well as being involved in viticulture in the Wairarapa.


Keith Rushbrook


Keith Rushbrook was a partner in the international accounting firm KPMG for 27 years before ‘retiring’ to seek out and enjoy new challenges.  He has a number of director appointments and has interests in some small start-up businesses.  Keith has also been heavily involved for the last three years acting as CEO of a large social services agency in Auckland which has been transforming itself to make it and the services it provides more focused and relevant.  He acts in a consulting role to a creative agency in Auckland and enjoys the odd opportunity to be involved in projects involving strategic thinking and creative output.
