Solid Energy Leisure Centre $6,000,000
This project is to assist with the development and construction of this facility. The key components of this facility include; a two court indoor stadium, a 25 metre 8 lane lap pool, plus water for hydrotherapy and learners, a fitness centre, two squash courts, a multi purpose room and a full sized artificial hockey surface. This project is well underway with the main stadium roof already in place.
St James Theatre $700,000
This project is to assist with the upgrade and other related work for the Theatre to meet the current building code requirements and the needs of the local community. This project was unable to meet budget requirements so options and alternatives are being investigated.
Greymouth Aquatic centre $6,000,000
This project is to assist with the development and construction of the new aquatic Centre for the Grey district. The key parts of this facility will include an 8 lane 25 metre lap pool, seating for 200, a spa pool, a toddlers/ learners pool and a hydroslide. This project has started with most site works completed and underground pipe work installed.
Regent Theatre $400,000
This project is to assist with the earthquake strengthening and upgrade of the Regent Theatre. The majority of this work is around improving the structural standard of the Theatre to meet recent building code requirements. This project has yet to commence
Cobden Sports Complex $50,000
This project is to assist with the staged development of facilities at the Cobden recreation park. This park and the associated facilities are well used by both Rugby League and Softball. The initial stage of this project has been completed
Grey United Tennis club$20,000
This project is to assist with the upgrade of the clubs changing and toilet facilities at the clubs courts on Shakespeare Street. This project has yet to commence.
Westurf Recreation Trust $100,000
This project is to assist with the replacement of the artificial surface at the Speights Westurf Stadium. Into the furure this organization hopes to add change and shower facilities and a spectator viewing room to the stadium. The Westurf Trust still have significant fundraising to achieve the target of around $500,000 required to replace the surface.
