Rock Wagon
A very enterprising Karamea class involved themselves in three E4E projects this term; researching the set up of a community gym, researching the history of a local rock wagon and building a replica model as part of a Department of Conservation preservation project.
The wagons were used to cart stone from 1931 to 1946 to construct a breakwater after the 1929 Murchison earthquake. The year 10 technology class have worked with DOC ranger Barry Chalmers to build the wagon from timber and steel.
