Trish May
Trish began her career at Tourism Rotorua where she remained for seven years. Her primary activities were involved with international marketing which included close working relationships with participants in the travel agent distribution chain. She also led local operators and represented the destination at international travel events usually arranged by New Zealand Tourism Board (forerunner to TNZ).
For three years Trish was Sales Manager, and then Makerting Manager at Rainbow Springs and Rainbow Farm Show. This was a highley commercial experience, in a fiercely competitive environment. At the time the company was owned by Shotover Jet Lts, then a publcly listed company.
Tish holds a post-graduate Diploma in Business and Administration (Massey University), a post-graduate Diploma in Tourism (University of Otago) and a double major BA degree.

Jo Birnie

Kaila Colbin
Since her arrival from the States five years ago, entrepreneur and social commentator Kaila Colbin, PMP, has made her mark on the New Zealand business landscape. She is the founder of Missing Link Consultants, a social media marketing company, and a co-founder of Falcon Training, a project management training company.
Kaila is widely recognized as a leader in the applications of social media for business. She is responsible for the social media efforts of MiniMonos, a virtual world for children focused on sustainability; an ambassador for the Web Genome Project, a movement to map the virtual topography of the Web; and a regular contributor to the US publications Search Insider and Network World. She teaches at CPIT and the CDC, and was most recently on an expert panel discussing social media at the Summer of Code.
She has developed a particular expertise in provoking disruptive thinking and in bringing together disparate ideas about humanity. Everything Kaila does, whether business or pleasure, contributes to her life's purpose of being an uplifting presence. John Roestenburgh
As well as running several small businesses himself John has been actively helping commerce grow for the past 7 years, having involvement with some 500 business owners during that time. After 5 years as a business adviser assisting with business planning, financial analysis and marketing he moved to the role General Manager of a Chartered Accountancy practice. During this time as well as overseeing the staffing and internal systems he continued to assist businesses strategically as well as specialising in troubleshooting and implementing computerised accounting systems. To continue his passion for helping business people achieve their aims he now runs a tutoring and financial systems consultancy under the brand Number Doctor where his philosophy is to simplify the numbers and remove the jargon which can sometimes go hand in hand with financial analysis.

Carolyn Dean
Carolyn is an environmental consultant specialising in business Sustainability and manages her own company FutureGenz Ltd. She has degrees in Environmental Management and Communication. Carolyn also has an established background in the field of waste management and minimisation.
Carolyn has been involved with developing and delivering a wide array of sustainability programmes, including NZTE workshops in regions around New Zealand, and currently works with over 100 businesses across a range of sectors and industries. Carolyn has also developed a sustainability guideline for SME's, manages a network for sustainable business and writes a weekly newspaper column on environmental topics.

Marijke Dunselman
Marijke is a Marketing Specialist her business is str@tegies marketing consultantcy Ltd. Many of the projects and clients she is involved with are tourism related. She develops marketing stratagies for large and small tourism operators. Other projects include feasability studies, developing marketing materials (websites, brochures), putting together packages and advising tourism businesses on working with wholesalers, advertising, media, product distribution, customers service, goal setting etc.
Marijke has developed a series of Enterprise Training Workshops especially for the Tourism Sector, which she presents throughout the South Island.
Marijke has attended TRENZ for the last six years and represents South Island tourism operators in the European market every year. Working with tourism operators in New Zealand and yearly market visits to European wholesalers ensures she is up to date with what's happening in the Tourism Industry both within New Zealand and internationally.

Vanessa Hughes
Vanessa has been in consumer market research in the UK from 1978 until 2001. For some time she ran her own organisation conducting studies on a wide range of products (at all stages of production) from cinema feature films to the more everyday items like toothpaste and shampoo. She is a full member of both the UK Market Research Society and MESNZ.
Since living on the West Coast she has conducted a variety of studies for organisations on topics including kayaking, penguins, students and businesses.
Customer feedback can seem complicated and difficult, but quite a lot of it is common sense and not as scary as some people think.
