Enterprise Training Programme
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Enterprise Training Programme (ETP) focuses on providing management training to the owner/operators of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to help them develop and grow their business. A recent survey indicated that 87% of clients attending training considered that the services accessed met their needs.

Eligibility
ETP is open to owners/operators of SME's small to medium businesses in New Zealand employing less than fifty full time staff. ETP also offers training programmes for people who want to start a business and for trustees and/or managers of Maori trusts and other Maori organisations managing multiple owned Maori assets.
For the purposes of Enterprise Training, SMEs are defined as having the following characteristics:
- Are personally owned
- Have few, if any, specialised managerial staff
- Have less than 50 full time staff (FTE)
- Are commercially trading
- Are not part of a larger business enterprise

Cost
ETP is a fully funded government programme. The investment for the client is in their time, effort and commitment.
Follow up Coaching
After each workshop all registered clients are entitled to a maximum 1.5 hours individual mentoring, in the form of follow up coaching with the workshop presenter. This is also fully funded.
The following groups are also eligible for specific Enterprise Training Programme Services:
Maori Trustee Training:
An opportunity to upskill and improve governance capability an opportunity to network and share ideas, knowledge and best practice examples with other Maori Trustees or Managers.
Export Training:
- Have more than 50 FTEs
- Are seeking to develop or grow their export activities
Investment Ready(IR):
- Are not yet trading, or have more than 50 FTEs
- Are seeking capital to expand, diversify or commercialise a new concept
- Are not registered unemployed
